Volute is inspired by the gracious curves of the top of a classic column. Living in a historic town, I’m surrounded by the beauty of classic ornamentation and architecture. I’m always drawn to architecture when I travel too. There’s something so compelling about all the detail that went into old places; the columns, carvings, inlays. A connection in terms of structure but also connection to culture and history. Even as early as Herculaneum, walls were adorned with vivid painted borders and motifs.
