This sketch lived in my sketchbook for a while — a quick capture of an architectural detail, the kind of thing you draw fast because you're afraid the moment will leave before your pen does. A cornice. A carved edge. Some small, beautiful decision made by someone's hands a very long time ago. It went into the book, and it stayed there, patient, waiting to become something else.

That's Relic.

More texture than pattern, it carries all the warmth of a working sketchbook — the slightly imperfect line, the suggestion of depth, the feeling that something has been looked at very carefully and recorded with real affection. It doesn't repeat the way a pattern repeats. It settles. It accumulates.
